cold

O, what brave souls!

Jordan used urban spoon to pick out a breakfast cafe this morning. Upon arrival we realized most of the seating was outside ( in the wind and a sprinkle of rain) but the wait for inside was half hour plus.

Being the brave souls we are we opted for the patio. I ordered a hot chocolate but it tastes like it came from a pouch. This doesn't bode well.

I am cold.

jury.

moving around was nice, a few days off from the usual.
i did enjoy myself in a variety of ways, that is always a plus.

i was able to ride around a little yesterday, i put on some new tires and what a difference that made. today it is raining with a bitter cold thrust that penetrates the bones.

mailing out more packages that is proving to be a constant venture. only a few hundred more records to get rid of.

damn it felt good to climb.

if attractive people are referred to as being "hot"

why aren't ugly people called "cold?"

I has a new kitty

ok, well it's not a "new" kitty, it's my mother in law's cat
since her boyfriend moved in with her up here he brought his little yappy dogs with him, and they don't like cats.
so, naturally, after seeing her cat sit outside her house on the porch in freezing cold temps, i brought her to our house and she's been here for about a week now.
long enough to where she can go outside and come back to our house instead of her house.
she's an old cat, tracy said it was originally his uncle's cat, who died in '99, and she was full grown then
so she has to be a minimum of 12 years old.

As a native Floridian

I am NOT used to this cold. I mean, it doesn't bother me to go out in. I actually enjoy it. But to work out or jog in it?

Fuck that shit. I figured I'd get back on a workout routine ... Jogging, crunches, push-ups. Ok, fine. Great.

So I started my morning off with a jog. I stretched first, got some good music on the iPod, and was ready to go. I planned to run as many laps around my neighborhood as possible, then break, then continue jogging. That's how I usually do it.

Anyways, half a lap in I started hacking up phlegm. My lungs were burning and my legs felt rubbery. now, I know I am not in the shape I used to be but damn it all!

I had to quit. I gotta get used to running in the cold before I can really go at it again. The thing that sucks is that by two days from now, it'll be in the 70's again. I hate Florida's freaky weather.

fallings.

it's wonderful to have two snow days when there actually is a lot of snow.

falling.

it's wonderful to have a snow day when there really isn't that much snow.

Long Friday...

It's 9:19pm, and I've just now taken my work boots off. My feet are so sweat-logged and miserable. But, I have two bathed kids, a husband folding laundry on the bed, and a mostly clean bedroom. Elizabeth is showing off her muscles (she's only 4).

I would kill for a hot shower, but we used all the hot water for the bath. Such is life. Jay and I have decided that when we get a house, we're going to install the biggest hot water heater we can get. Maybe two.

I'm so tired, so cold, so drained... But I have the most loving and kind husband you could possibly imagine. He just wraps his arms around me and holds me, tells me how much he loves me.

It amuses me how the kids report any cuts and bruises they have to us... "Daddy, I have a mysterious cut..." says Sarah.

I'm gonna go put laundry away...

Sing me to sleep, sing to me.

Good morning February First, 2010.
I was going to ask who can sleep with their window open at night in January. That I cannot, because now it is February.
I am supposed to be writing more, right?

It is so cold.

Day 25--My Day, in Great Detail

I'm in Keystone for certification with my friend Marlo...we woke up this morning at 7:00, groaned about how cold it was in our hotel room, and then checked the weather. Cold, and fucking windy. More groaning.

We got dressed in our base layers and ate Honey Bunches of Oats (with Almonds) out of the glasses in the hotel because we didn't have bowls and watched the weather report. Still cold, still fucking windy.

We walked over to the base of the mountain and had no clue where to go. We asked the cutest old woman, an information employee, where to go and the three of us wandered around blindly for about 5 minutes until we found the meeting place. Paperwork was filled out, liability waivers signed, and then around 9:00 ish we divided up into groups and went up the chairlift.

My trainer's name is Tony.

We took a warm up run on a green I don't know the name of, then took Montezuma Chair (pretty much the only chairlift we went on) back up to the top. Then we did a run called Frenchman. On Frenchman we worked on some teaching stuff, including the teaching model. To demo, Tony taught us how to do a tail butter frontside 180. Very fun :o)

Back up Montezuma Lift.

Our next run was Wild Irishman (I don't know who named these runs...) and we learned how to do a tail toe side chip shot to showcase the Static, Simple, Complex, Freeride model. It was hard, but will be fun to do once I practice. After that we went up the gondola and took a hot chocolate break. During the break we reviewed the study guide.

Our last run before lunch was down Wild Irishman again. We did a shadowing exercise, then rode down to the bottom switch. Half of it was a cat track. I effing hate cat tracks, especially riding switch.

Lunch was mediocre, at best. Cheeseburger and fries. Not very good. But one of the guys shared his brownie and that was DELICIOUS.
