Its been a while
Submitted by enterprise on Thu.02.16.06 6:07pm
I have been taking online college classes through University of Phoenix. Been doing this since October, 2005.
So I will probably will not add many writing on this site. But most of the stuff I have posted is old writing anyway, a couple new pieces here and there.
Well I am currently working on getting my Master's in Business Management. After that, in about two years, I am planning on getting my Doctorate in Business Administration or Human Resource Management.
The great thing about doing online college courses is that it fits into my work schedule-working Swing Shift. As long as I log on to the site at least five times a week. The last class I finished I had six papers to write. That was a little rough. The class is a six week class, and I am doing about five hours a day in the class. So I find that my schedule is a little tight.
It seems that melo has a new look about it. I have to check it out. Now off to the wall.

Enterprise's Melo Quick Entry
Submitted by enterprise on Wed.09.14.05 10:32am
A note about Work In Progress (WIP). If you see an entry title aind there is a (WIP) next to it, then it means that it is something I am working on and the entry might not be complete. So I will be going back to the entry in a future date (hopefully not too far) to work on it or to complete it. I started many stories and never got around to completing them.

THE Money Jar (Short story)
Submitted by enterprise on Wed.09.14.05 9:44am
Laura sat at the kitchen table holding her head in her hands as if she was having the biggest headache in the world.
Amanda and Sue, her six and eight year old daughters came in to get some cereal.
"What's wrong, Mommy?" Amanda asked.
"The electric company called. They are going to shut the power off if I don't pay the bill today."
"Can't daddy help?" Sue asked.
"I tried to call Daddy at work. But he is on the road today. I'm not sure if he is going to be home by the time the electric company comes."
"Well, don't we have the money to pay for the electric company?" Sue asked. "I thought you got paid yesterday."
"Yes," Laura said. "But I had to pay the car insurance bill. I was going to pay the electric bill next week. I have enough to pay it today. But I am only going to have enough left over for gas and groceries. I'm sorry but I promise you that we will go to Chuckie Cheese next week."
"But you promised that you would take Amanda and me today!" Sue threw down her bowl on the table.
"Sue! Don't be so selfish!" her younger sister yelled at her.
"What do you want to do, sit in the house with no television or computer or lights? Look at all those videos and games mommy and daddy bought for us. What good will they be when we can't watch them?"
"I'm sorry Mom," Sue said quietly. "I just get frustrated when you and dad get paid and all you do is pay bills."
"I know honey. But on the bright side, some of these bills are going to be paid off within a year. Plus I will be getting a raise in a few months."
"Bills!" Amanda exclaimed. "When I become president of the United States I will make a law where nobody has to pay any bills!"
Sue and Laura laughed at the younger child's campaign speech.
"You have my vote," Laura said.
"Girls, give me a few minutes. I'm going to call the electric company again. Maybe I will get somebody to give me an extension."
The two girls cleaned their dishes. "God, please help my mommy," Amanda prayed quietly.
After a few minutes of talking on the phone Laura was able to negotiate with the electric company. She had to pay the bill next week, which she knew she was able to do.
"Girls, change of plans. We're going!"
"Yipee!" both girls jumped up and down.
"Wait Mom!" Amanda shouted. "We have that big bag of tickets we have been saving."
"Yeah!" Sue said. "Maybe we will have enough for the lava lamp."
********************************************************
A couple hours later mother and daughters
entered the house.
"A few more trips, Mom, and we will have enough tickets!" Amanda said, storing the bag back in the closet.
"I am going to start saving part of my allowance each week," Sue said.
"That's great, Sue," Laura said.
"Why don't you girls watch a movie while I think about what to make for dinner."
"Oh, Mom!" Amanda said, holding her stomache. "We are stuffed. Why don't you order something to make it easy on you. Just don't order pizza."
"Just make something for Daddy. Popcorn will be great for us. Come on, Amanda! Let's watch a Mary-Kate and Ashley movie."
Amanda stuck her finger in her mouth pretending to gag. But she followed her sister out of the room. "Then we watch my Barney movie!"
"Oh no! Dumb Dumb Barney!"
Laura heated up the coffee and poured herself a cup. Adding her usual cream and sugar she sat down to sort the mail. The usual-junk mail (especially those that promise to make you rich overnight)-and bills (but no disconnect notices this time).
Laura sat at the table sipping her coffee and thinking.
"What happened," she thought to herself. "I used to pay the bills on time and had money left over each week."
She and her husband both had good paying jobs and lately seemed to be living paycheck to paycheck. And they seemed to be sinking furthur and furthur into debt.
Filing for bankruptcy was out of the question. Sure it was an easy way out. However, it would hurt her chances down the line if she ever needed to get another new car. A bankruptcy showing up on her credit report would hurt her chance of ever getting a loan.
"God," she prayed silently to herself. "You know our financial situation. I need your help to get us out of debt. I can't do this on my own. I put my trust in you."
Laura suddenly remembered something Sue had said after they had returned from Chuckie Cheese: 'I am going to start saving part of my allowance each week.'
Laura sat and thought some more. Then she had an idea.
Sue grabbed a couple of jars from the sink that she had cleaned for the recycling bins.
"This just might work," Laura thught to herself.
She walked into the living room. Sue was engrossed in the Mary-Kate and Ashley movie.
Amanda was jumping around pretending to be sick.
"Sue and Amanda, can I see you in the kitchen as soon as your movie is over?"
"Sure Mom," Sue said. "It is almost over."
"But Mom," Amanda complained. "I was going to watch Barney next."
This time it was Sue who pretended to be sick. "Mom we have to buy another VCR for the TV upstairs. That way we can watch what we want."
"Well this won't take long, then Amanda you can watch Barney."
Fifteen minutes later both girls were sitting at the kitchen table, looking questionably at the jars on the table and at their mother.
"Girls, remember how worried I was this morning about paying the electric bill this morning?"
"Yeah," Sue said. "We never would have gone to Chuckie Cheese this morning. Thanks for talking to the electric company. I'm sorry we got mad at you."
"I did not get mad," Amanda said. "I got mad at you for getting mad at Mom."
"Oh that's right," Sue said. "But why this big meeting in the kitchen?"
"Well, Sue, it is something you said about saving part of your allowance. You know about a hundred years ago people didn't have credit cards or get bank loans.
"They used jars to keep their money in. They used to save money in a different jar for each thing they needed."
"Like groceries," Sue asked.
"And clothing?" Amanda put it.
"That's right," Laura coninued.
"The families back in those days would have a money jar set aside for heating, food, clothing, doctor bills, school supplies and so forth.
"What I want to do is start a money jar system." Laura reached into her pants and pulled out a handful of coins and dropped them into the jar.
"I am starting out by adding these coins. It's a drop in the bucket but if we stick to this it can really add up."
"How many jars do we need, Mom?" Amanda asked.
"Well, that's what we need to figure out. Your Dad and I have bills to pay each month. Your Dad pays the truck payment, buys groceries, and pays the rent. I pay the car payment, car insurance payment and medical bills. We normally pay these bills on time so we probably don't need money jars for these bills."
"We need school supplies and lunch moey," Amanda said.
"And school clothes," Sue said.
"But we can bring our own lunch, Amanda said.
Sue thought for a moment, "We have plenty of clothes from last year, so I guess we don't need new clothes, except maybe sneakers. Plus we can always get clothes from church."
"Well." Laura said, "This jar will be the school money jar. That way if you want to buy your lunch some day or want to save up for some new clothes you will have the money.
"I also want to start a money jar each for the cable, electric and phone bills."
"Yeah," Amanda said. "Sue wouldn't want the electric shut off while she is watching Mary-Kate and Ashley."
"Or Dumb Dumb Barney," Sue retorted.
"Girls, we can also set up a money jar so we can save up for another VCR."
"Oh Mom! That is a great idea!" both girls shouted.
"Any other ideas for money jars?"
"Christmas shopping!"
"Birthdays!"
"Oh my I am drawing a blank!"
"There are too many ideas!"
"Well I think we have discussed this enough for today," Laura said. "I will try to put money in the jars each week and see if your daddy will do the same. If you put a little of your allowance in each week and any loose change you find around the house, these money jars will fill up fast."
"Come on Sue, Amanda said running out of the kitchen. "I have some change up in my room! Then we can watch Mary-kate and Ashley!"
"Hey! That's my line!" Sue said following Amanda out of the kitchen.
Laura, feeling much better than she had earlier that morning placed the money jar on the kitchen shelf, feeling hope for the future.
What would you save for in a money jar?

Re-learning how to ride a bike
Submitted by enterprise on Mon.09.12.05 8:39am
Well I got my ten speed from my mom's yesterday. The last time I ever rode it was over ten ago. It's a Raleigh and I don't even know if they make them anymore.
Overall the bike is in good condition and even though I filled the ties up I should actually bring it into a shop to get new tires because they look like they may be dry rotted a little. And also have an overall service on the chain, gears and brakes.
Well after I got on the bike I rode it for a little bit but I felt a little unsteady when I first started but then after a while I felt a bit bit more comfortable. It is basically learning when to shift.
Before I got married I used to ride my bike all over the place. Used to take trips into Pennsylvania, sometimes riding 20 to 40 miles a day. Oh I wish I kept riding but it will eventually come bake to me. They always say once you learn how to ride a bike you never forget.
I remember when I wa eight years old I taught myself to ride. I had one of my brothers take the training wheels off my bike. I fell a lot. But each time I got up and got back on the bike. I remember riding down the street before falling. My brother was worried that I had hurt myself but I was so happy at how far I had riden before falling.

God's Word Will Make You Free
The Bible is God's message to you. It is full of good news.
God's Word, the Bible, tells how God loves you, and tells His wonderful plan for your life. From the Bible you can learn how to receive God's blessing in every area of life.
Many people are afraid that God's Word will put them in bondage -- because of the rules they think they will have to follow. But Jesus said God's Word would make you free.
JOHN 8:31-32 NKJ
31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.
32 "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
Abide means to live, to continue, or to spend time somewhere.
If you continue to spend time in Jesus' Word -- you will know the truth.
When you know the truth, you will act on that knowledge -- and acting on the truth will make you free!
Freedom Is Certain
The Bible, especially the message of Jesus Christ in the New Testament, will set you free if you continue in it.
We are not guaranteed instant results, although sometimes they do happen. Freedom is certain, however, if you stick with God's Word. Jesus gave His guarantee!
If you are not enjoying freedom in any area of your life -- you have not continued in God's Word enough in that area.
Just because you have fed on God's Word in one area, does not mean you will be free in every area of life.
God's Word Is A Seed
For example, you could plant hundreds of tomato seeds in a garden and never harvest one carrot. Why? You never planted any carrot seed!
God's Word works the same way as a seed. The Word must be planted inside you to bear fruit in your life.
LUKE 8:11 NKJ
11 "Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
1 PETER 1:23 NKJ
23 having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever,
Plant All The Seed
Just because you plant the seed from God's Word about spiritual rebirth does not mean you can expect a harvest of financial prosperity.
Scriptures about prosperity must be planted in you, and watered, before you can expect a harvest of prosperity.
Even if you plant much seed from God's Word concerning health and healing, you will not automatically have a harvest of a successful marriage and family life.
Each seed of God's Word has to be planted to produce fruit in your life in that area.
MATTHEW 4:4 NKJ
4 But He answered and said, "It is written, `Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.

Still awake. I might as well stay awake the rest of the day then go to sleep early like 8:00. Sometimes when I go to sleep on my day off, I end up sleeping the whole day away and life's too short to be sleeping. So getting hopped up on coffee. I don't have to go to work until Tuesday morning. Also I am waiting for Jeff to get home from work. He works on a differen shift than I do. We have been playing Chess on Itsyourturn.com. The first game he slaughtered me but this game I am doing a lot better. I just got his queen. This is actually the first time I have ever played Chess. Never played as a kid. Jeff even says I am playing a lot better

A note about my poems. I wrote most of them in high school so had help from my teachers, so I can't really claim full credit for them. Though there are a couple I did write recently during the winter: To Jeff The One I Love, I Love Her, The Man in My Life and No Hope For Me. I submitted No Hope For Me to a poetry writing contest but they wanted me to pay money to get it submitted in a poetry book. Didn't have the money but probably would like to get the book

I am so glad people are stopping by my melo and posting comments. It makes me fee apprecitated. Even though I am older than most of the meloites here age has no boundaries online. Who knows I might be younger than you think. Of all the people I have encountered on this site, I find that they are very mature. I originally started this melo for my girls but right now they are not too interested in keeping a journal

For You My Friend
Submitted by enterprise on Sat.09.03.05 5:11pm
For you, my friend,
I send you a smile,
For just being there,
By my side when I'm down,
And showing that you care.
I send you love,
For caring for me,
When I was sick or hurt,
Or wanted company.
I send you a rainbow,
For saying to me,
The sun needs the rain,
For a rainbow to be.
I'd send you the world,
If dreams could come true,
For a friend takes it all,
Then returns it to you.
I send you a smile,
For just being there,
By my side when I'm down,
And showing that you care.
I send you love,
For caring for me,
When I was sick or hurt,

You are like the sun
Submitted by enterprise on Mon.08.15.05 2:53pm
You are like the sun,
And I am but a flower.
I need you shining on me;
It almost makes me beam,
Love flows with happiness.
It's as if it were a dream.
But when the clouds do come and cover you,
And take you far away,
I soon feel sad and lonely,
And slowly fade away.
So please say you'll never leave me,
Just say you love me too.
For I can't live without you,
Cause we are one, not two.
And I am but a flower.
I need you shining on me;
It almost makes me beam,
Love flows with happiness.
It's as if it were a dream.
But when the clouds do come and cover you,
And take you far away,
I soon feel sad and lonely,
And slowly fade away.
So please say you'll never leave me,
Just say you love me too.
For I can't live without you,
Cause we are one, not two.

A Letter To My Husband
Submitted by enterprise on Mon.08.15.05 2:49pm
To My Dear Husband,
Some time ago, I was at Our Country Hearts in Endicott and bought this Writer's Journal. I had no idea what I was going to write in it. You might notice that I have several floating around the house-most are not even halfway filled uo.
I first thought about writing a jounal of my spiritual development, but I already started that in another book. I also thought about using this book to take notes while I am at church-but usually the pastor hands out sheets of paper for us to take notes on. Then I decided what I am going to do with this book. I am going to fill all of the pages with a letter to you that will show that Jesus died for your sins and that there is a place in heaven for you, if you listen to what he says.
I love you and I want to spend eternity in heaven with you and the family.
Please take time to read this letter, because what I have to say is important. What you decide after you finish reading, that is your choice.
I am starting this letter on the seventeenth of October. I will finish it when the last page is filled. Do not be surprised if it takes me several years to finish this because you should know after four years of marriage that I am a bit of a procrastinator.
This letter is not going to be judgemental because we are all sinners-nobody is perfect. This is a letter that will show you how to inherit the Kingdom of God. I am not going to tell you how this letter is going to turn out because I don't even know.
God is with me and he is helping me put down the words on this paper. I am not going to write this letter in any specific order. I will write down what will be most important for you. I will use Bible quotes, things I learn in Church and information I pck up from the media.
Dear, you may not realize this. However, up to the time I was in college, I was almost sure I was going to Hell. I did a lot of things that I knew was sinful-mostly it was drinking and swearing. I was brought up with the belief that God was an unforgiving being.
Then I found out just the opposite. I found out that if I believed that Jesus is the Son of God, and if I took Him as my Personal Savior, then my sins would be forgiven. Let me share a simple prayer with you:
"Lord Jesus, come into my heart and forgive me of my sins. I know that I am a sinner and I repent of my sins. Wash me in your blood and make me clean. I have sinned against heaven and before you and am not worthy to be called a son. I receive you by faith as my Savior."
(Before I go on with this letter, Honey, if you have already done this or anything else I write, don't be offended. It is meant to help not just you but anybody else who needs to be saved-share this letter with friends, acquaintances and whoever else needs God's word.
You can say this prayer to yourself and if you mean it, Jesus will hear you and fogive you. If you ask Jesus to be your Personal Savior, you will be saved and have a place in heaven. This is true even if you continue to be sinful. God does not expect you to be perfect because nobody is. The onle perfect person is Jesus. If you do sin, all you have to do is pray to God and Jesus for forgiveness-and he will give it to you. Trust me.
There have been many times since I have been saved-I drank, I am judgemental, I nag you for petty things, I am impatient, I sometimes get an uncontrolable bad temper and so on. I have said that prayer many times and have been forgiven.
I go to Church at the First Assembly of God so I can get a better understanding of the Bible. I have been trying to read the Bible from front to back but I have not been successful. I try to read the Bible on a daily basis.
Try to get into a habit of reading. If you can not get into a daily devotional, just then use the Bible to answer questions. If you want to know of any good spiritual books, let me know and I will give you some names. However, be careful because the Bible is the only true book. The other books might have misinterpretations.
It does not matter whether you go to church or not-what matters is if you are saved. There are many people who go to Church, and are good eople but never asked Jesus to be their personal savior-they may never get to Heaven.
If you go to Church, that is your choice. However, we have to place these Christian principals is the children so they can lead better lives when they get older.
As long as you ask Jesus to be your Personal Savior, you do not even have to do anything to improve your life. God loves you the way you are.
However, if you are willing to do away with your sins, Jesus is here for you and will help you overcome them. Jesus has helped me overcome some of my sins and, if I had not been saved, then this would have been impossible to do.
Honey, let me share a Bible verse with you. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son" John 3:16-18. This is probably the most loved verse in the Bible, because it gives believers a promise of eternal happiness.
We are faced with a lot of decisions to make through our lives. And sometimes we worry if the decisions we make are the right ones. That is when we have to put our trust in God.
Just remember proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
I have put my trust in God many times. Like when we had to get a new car, when I was looking for a job and even when I am facing a possible layoff. You can not let worry rule your life-yes worry is a sin also. When you feel worry coming on pra to God and say that you trust him to take your worries away.
Dear, there are several reason why I am writing this letter. However, the main one is because I do not want you to make the same mistake that I made during my first eighteen years. You know that I was a Roman Catholic- was baptized, had communion, went to catholic school and so on. But that was on the outside; what was on the inside was different.
During my later childhood and through high school-I did not have a relationship with God. I believed in him but I did not feel that he loved me or that he was mad at me or unforgiving because I would sin. Before I went to college I was very convinced that I was going to Hell-that is a scary thought-eternity of pain and suffering-it is not a party down there. I am not going to tell you all the things that I thought, but I remember that I was hoping that I would live to a very old age.
However, when I was in college-my second semester-I found out that I would not go to Hell if I believed in God and Jesus and if I made a promise to change my ways-and even if I did slip up (which I did often) all I had to do was ask for forgiveness.
During that period of time when I did not trust God is something like being religious but not right with God. I wrote that so you can uderstand what I am talking about a little better. That is why I am REPEATING myself.
Honey, if you have any doubts in what I am trying to say to you in this letter, just remember Jesus' promise as said in Jude 5:24: "He that hears my word, and believes on him that sent me, has everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation but is passed from death unto life."
Sweet Heart, I am almost finished with this letter. Whatever you decide I will always be your loving and devoting wife. I will answer any questions you have on the Bible and Spiritual matters. I am not an expert, but I will find the answers as best as I can. Just remeber that I love you.
Love your loving Wife.

The Man In My Life
Submitted by enterprise on Sun.08.14.05 11:05am
I have a man in my life,
He is perfect in every way.
When I mess up,
He does not put me down.
He loves me unconditionly, though
Sometimes I don't love him back.
He helps me with all my problems.
He is there for me,
Even when I want to be alone.
He always listens to me,
Even when I am complaining.
He sees me as a beautiful woman,
Even though I have many flaws.
The man in my life
Is perfect in every way.
Including the holes in
His hands and feet.
He is perfect in every way.
When I mess up,
He does not put me down.
He loves me unconditionly, though
Sometimes I don't love him back.
He helps me with all my problems.
He is there for me,
Even when I want to be alone.
He always listens to me,
Even when I am complaining.
He sees me as a beautiful woman,
Even though I have many flaws.
The man in my life
Is perfect in every way.
Including the holes in
His hands and feet.

Love
Submitted by enterprise on Sun.08.14.05 11:00am
I love him.
He means so much to me.
When he is not here,
I miss him greatly.
Day and night,
I long for him.
His gentle kisses,
His warm embraces,
His tender kindness,
Everything about him,
I greatly love.
Every waking moment,
And in my dreams,
He is in my thoughts
One day,
I hope and pray,
I will be with him,
Till death do us part.
He means so much to me.
When he is not here,
I miss him greatly.
Day and night,
I long for him.
His gentle kisses,
His warm embraces,
His tender kindness,
Everything about him,
I greatly love.
Every waking moment,
And in my dreams,
He is in my thoughts
One day,
I hope and pray,
I will be with him,
Till death do us part.

To Jeff The One I Love (Poem)
Submitted by enterprise on Tue.08.09.05 7:58am
I fell in love with you
The first time we met.
I kept all these
feelings from you,
Too afraid to let
You know how I felt.
It was not meant to be.
Or was it?
Through heartbreak I waited,
Our friendship growing each day.
Four lonely years I waited.
Then I felt your loving embrace.
Then I knew, even
Though this might be wrong,
That you love me
The way I love you.
What will our future be?
Will our relationship last?
I need you by my side,
I long for your touch.
You encourage me each day,
The only one who cares for me,
The only one who believes in me.
You make me feel very special.
I love you strongly,
Love you more each day.
You make me feel beautiful,
Oh how I love you.
One day my love,
I will tell
You my feelings.
No secrets will
I keep from you.
You make me very happy,
More than you will ever know.
You mean so much to me.
Love Your Little Buddy

No Hope For Me (poem)
Submitted by enterprise on Mon.08.08.05 2:54pm
Broken promises,
Crushed dreams,
Something is amiss,
No hope for me.
Lack of faith,
Lost of self-esteem,
Lack of self-confidence,
No hope for me.
All is lost,
I can't go on,
I am too weak,
No hope for me.
But wait a minute,
A Bright Light in the darkness
A strong sense of comfort,
There is hope for me.
Crushed dreams,
Something is amiss,
No hope for me.
Lack of faith,
Lost of self-esteem,
Lack of self-confidence,
No hope for me.
All is lost,
I can't go on,
I am too weak,
No hope for me.
But wait a minute,
A Bright Light in the darkness
A strong sense of comfort,
There is hope for me.

An Intro

I am a writer wanna be. I have written so many stories, but never have been published as a paid author. Recently I have been looking for blogs to post all my writings. Hey I might as well share what I have written even if I don't get paid. I have a hidden talent.
However, the webblogs I have come across so far cost money to join-something which I don't seem to have enough of. A friend of mine told me about diaryland and melodramatic and so here I am.
So this diary is more of a writing journal. I will post my stories both from the past and works in progress-time allowing of course.
I hope people read here, plus I will post these on other free sites.
Thank you.
